The Clark Cawthra Coneybeare Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who bring diverse professional expertise and deep personal commitment to our mission. Their collective wisdom, experience, and connections across Toronto's civic, academic, and professional communities ensure we remain relevant, effective, and accountable.

Our Volunteers

The Clark Cawthra Coneybeare Foundation is powered by the generosity of over 340 dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills, and hearts to make our programs possible. Our volunteers are as diverse as Toronto itself — students and retirees, professionals and tradespeople, lifelong Torontonians and recent arrivals — united by a shared commitment to their community.

Volunteers serve in a wide range of roles across our programs: as language instructors and tutors, senior outreach companions, employment readiness coaches, event organizers, administrative supporters, and community guides for newcomers. No matter the role, every volunteer is essential to the Foundation's ability to deliver on its mission.

We invest meaningfully in our volunteers through comprehensive orientation, ongoing training, peer community, and recognition of their contributions. We believe that volunteering with the Foundation should be a fulfilling, enriching experience — not merely transactional. Many of our most effective volunteers began as program participants themselves, returning to give back to the community that supported them.

Our Governance Commitment

The Clark Cawthra Coneybeare Foundation is committed to the highest standards of nonprofit governance. Our board operates under a robust governance framework that includes annual financial audits by an independent chartered accounting firm, a board-approved conflict of interest policy, and biennial strategic planning reviews.

We file complete T3010 Registered Charity Information Returns with the Canada Revenue Agency annually, and our registered charity information — including financials and governance details — is publicly available through the CRA Charities Directorate. Charity registration number: 823932488RR0001.

The board meets quarterly, with an annual general meeting open to the public. We believe that transparency is not a compliance exercise — it is a fundamental expression of respect for the communities and individuals whose trust we hold.
